Thanks. And good luck.

We all know the season is officially over, what with the Opening Day loss to the Royals on Monday, but still, baseball will be played.

Lost in the wake of the Sox season imploding before our very eyes since we currently are 0-1, which means we have NO CHANCE of making the playoffs, is the play of one Christopher Trotman Nixon.

Now patrolling RF for the trendy pick for 2007, the Cleveland Indians, Trot has started off the year 5 for 9 with three doubles, 2 runs scored, and 1 filthy Chief Wahoo hat.

I could not be happier: I hope he has a monster year for the Indians and proves not only to Red Sox management, but to the fans as well that he still has plenty of fight left in him. Nobody plays harder or with more passion, and his professionalism and heart will be missed in Boston this year.

May 28th: Indians visit Boston.

Can you imagine the scene for THAT standing ovation?

They have a cool groupie name though: Chicklets

  11. Hi Christine,

We are all good: Trot is getting a little better with his ear infection. He and I stayed home tonight while Angie took Ciera and Rakes to church. Great game so far: 3-1 Sox in the bottom of the 5th.

And what exactly do you mean by "I'm like the same age as Ted"?

    You calling me old?

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  21. I gotcha Christine: I was just picking a little. :) Though with these 3 younguns, I feel about 75.

Javier Lopez in for Beckett: Kaylee, 5 innings, 1 run, 2 hits. You believe in my boy yet?

Scotty, I have very discriminating readers is all. The fact they are female and make fun of my age is beside the point. I have no idea where Tex went: it's quite possible she found another mariachi band.

Kaylee, my mind is hurting. Again.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ted, did I not tell you to watch JD. You have got to have a little faith faith faith.

  40. Well, don't we have quite the little slumber party going on here tonight? Glad to see Kaylee finally believes in Beckett. I told you, he'd be nails. And the boys found their bats, evidently.

Bub, I called you today, but you were too busy watering greenery to take my call. So, it's like that, eh?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Tree Squirrel-I said if he proves me wrong I will believe in him and he did.....now GO back into your nest!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Kaylee,

    Does "toen" mean "town"?

    Just curious.

Raisin Bran: you think we made a believer out of her yet?

C'mon Kaylee: You have to admit, Beckett was NAILS tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I will admit he was nails tonight!

    //Does "toen" mean "town"?//

    YES AND WATCH IT TED.

    ReplyDelete
  44. TED i am already thinking about taking TEX ON you want to be next on my list:)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Ted we hope you didn't try and call; did you? we've been at the nursing home visiting old people all evening. they can sure be a pain in the...whoops we shouldn't go there.

Did the Packers win tonight? we coudln't find them on the television set in Sister Granger's room.

How are your little girls doing?

I sure hope you can help us with our sweater problem!

Tex: we've enjoyed your little word games. Try this one

    RUNVUS

  46. Chicklets,

Trust me: no one is envious of 2 old birds: besides, isn't it past your bedtime?

Sox win 7-1. And all is right with the world.

Dice-K tomorrow. And with that, I'm out for the night.

  47. By the way, I know the dementia has set in for you old coots:

It's a girl and 2 boys: maybe the quilting meeting can let out early and you 2 can join the 21st century.

You do know about color tv don't you?

    ReplyDelete
  48. be nice now ted please.

    ReplyDelete
  49. ted i didnt know i was gonna be talking to the multiple personalities of your family.

NOWWWWWWWWW Kaylee is liking Beckett!! well I had confidence in him ALL along....he IS from Texas after all ;)

Chicklets...im smarter than the average bear.

    UNIROK

    ReplyDelete
  50. Tex, how do you know that's my family? Do you know something I don't?

Have a good day everybody: even the Chicklets.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Also looking forward to Trot coming to Fenway in May! He'll kind of be like this year's Johnny Damon lol.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Glad Trot had a good game, just wish it was with Boston.:( Theo is still on my list for not resigning him.

Well, they're 1-1. Maybe they can do something this year. :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. Oh Ted, I'm sorry. My eyes must be getting alot worse than i thought they were. I could have sworn that was three little girls.

Now why would we have a quilting "meeting"? You dont have to meet to quilt. You just quilt.

Who needs color t.v.?! I can watch the White Sox play the Packers perefectly fine without color.

Mildred was able to find some young man talking about the game this morning on the television set, and i have come to love the looks of that January Lopez. He just looks so nice in that sweater. We were wondering, what color are his eyes? Color televison would come in handy for such an observation.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Okay these chicklets scare me more and more each day.......I am afraid I am gunna be dreaming about them one of these days:)

    ReplyDelete
  55. Afternoon Chicklets, or in your case, Almost bedtime. The RED SOX beat the ROYALS last night: and today.

And I'm guessing you meant Javier Lopez: and I have no idea what color his eyes are. If you did not know, I'm a guy.

    Hi Kaylee

    ReplyDelete
  56. Hi TED the chicklets cant tell your kids are boys and you expect them to know you are a guy?You are talking to the wrong people i think.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Javier Lopez plays for the Royals? He was one of my favs when he played for the Braves.

2-1 now. Dice K must have done OK on his first start. Now you can go to sleep happy.

    ReplyDelete
  58. NO,stacy he plays with the sox!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Stacy:arent you a sox fan or are you the yankees fan?!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Whoo Hoo! What a great game! So glad Daisuke lived up to the hype...:-)

Stacy: Javier Lopez the pitcher is not the same as Javy Lopez, the former catcher for the Braves..:-)

    Hope all are well!

    Go Sox!

    ReplyDelete
  61. okay thats who she was talking about I probably just confused her:)

    ReplyDelete
  62. I am trying to post a post on my blog but considering that my brain aint thinking right doesnt help me come up with something to write about:)

    ReplyDelete
  63. Where is everyone tonight?

    ReplyDelete
  64. I didnt really think that Dice k looked bad today:)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Hi Christine:

I worked today, but Tivo'd the game. I listened on the XM so I knew we won, but I watched anyway.

In short, he looked awesome. The thought of him, Beckett, Lester, and Papelbon anchoring the Sox staff for the foreseeable future is sweet indeed.

Stacy, sorry to mess with you: your Lopez tried to catch on with the Rockies but they released him in camp. I have no proof, but he had very productive years at the height of the 'roid period, and he fell way off in recent years. I'm just sayin'.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Christine, thanks for clearing up the Javy Lopez confusion.

Ted, I won't argue with you; you're usually right on matters such as this. (you don't know how much it pains me to say that.:)
