Making the Show

Well, the tallest man on the team made the show: Kyle Snyder, a former number 1 pick of the Royals whose career has been derailed because of injuries, was told by Terry Francona he was starting the year with the big boy club.

Of course, it could only be temporary with Mike Timlin, Jon Lester, and Matt Clement starting out on the DL, but it's gotta be a thrill for the kid to have battled back from all the arm trouble he has had and make the club as a long reliever/spot starter. If you have not seen him pitch, he has got one of the NASTIEST 12/6 curve balls I've ever seen. Carries himself like a gunslinger from the Old West with a slow stride like the Duke and a gamer mentality. Good for you Kyle: now go out and show 'em what you can do.

No other real surprises: Craig Hansen and Manny Delcarmen were sent to Pawtucket, where they shoulda been last year. Pitchers on the 25 man roster are: Schilling, Beckett, Dice-K, Wake, Crazy Julian, Papelbon, Donnelly, Okajima, Piniero, Lopez, Romero, and Snyder.

Position players are Tek, Dougie, Papi, Youkilis, The Munchkin, Lugo, Lowell, Cora, Manny, Hinske, Drew, Crisp, and WMP. Pretty much the usual suspects, with Tito hoping to get Wily Mo around 400 AB's at the 3 OF slots and DH.

Well, we know who will be up on Opening Day: could we not just go ahead and start?

6 more days.

I like that Kyle Snyder made it now if I could just understand what Batshit(for those of you who are not as updated on the name thats JULIAN TAVAREZ) (ahem I was talking to you scott)was saying in his press conferences and postgame interviews.life would be good.

Being six foot nineteen never did any pitcher any harm, witness RJ, and Snyder's nowhere near as ugly.

Did I miss something or did we already know where Jon Lester's starting the season?

Hey Ted, I just checked Cyn's blog and Jon's starting at Greenville with Gabe Kapler for 4 starts. Greenville's somewhere near you isn't it?

Tex said...

Ted you better go to those games AND take pics--they dont have to be sittingstill quality...just take pics!!

im still working on deleting.

Ted D said...

John,

Greenville is about 2 1/2 hours from my house, and we are already planning on going, but were not planning on going before June. Imay have to change my mind or Tex will apparently hurt me if I don't.

I got to see Lester pitch in the ATL last year also

Tree Newt said...

Bean stalk here,
Lester will be in the bigs in a few...just getting his legs back under him. I'd love to get to cheer him on when we got to B'more in the fall.

Hate I've been under the radar for a few. Did I hear that Tex dropped some F bombs? Tisk, tisk, Texas! You're a poet! You're supposed to be above the common man's tongue!

As to Teddy being wireless, let me tell you all a secret: the boy tried to use a memory stick as a wi-fi card! CLASSIC!!! He is dangerous with technology!!!

Tex said...

look boys...when you're referring to a redneck comic....that word just pops up.
im sorry!!!!!! and if I can back my delete powers it'll be gone

Ted D said...

Tex, don't worry about it: and Stacy is still breathing, so it's all good. I'm not gonna censor you. And Kaylee that is not an open invitation: Tex is an adult!

In fact, she told me today that I needed to tell you not to worry!

So don't. Tree Bark, you are, as usual, a day late and a dollar short. Read yesterdays comments: I let the cat out of the bag myself just to not give you the satisfaction.

Manny just hit a 2 run double off Santana scoring Lugo and Papi.

WHOOOOOT! (For you Texas. :))

Working mans friend here! Tex I hope you are going to entertain us again tonight. I think I might dig into the archive box and throw some sailor words around! I'm off to church no rest for the wicked.

Ted D said...

Let me guess: Scott, you have bought yourself some Timberland work boots like Naz Def wears, have ripped some holes in the knees of your designer jeans, and have rubbed your John Deere hat in some potting soil to carry out the working mans friend look.

And you all leave Tex alone: my surrogate sister is all good.

KAYLEE said...

hey this doesnt sound like a good place to be tonight.Judging by what scott is saying should i stay away?Is it weird to tape the game monday night cause I gotta work?

Ted D said...

Kaylee, he's just carryin' on. And no, it's not weird: I tape the games all the time. Now Matt and Scott will say otherwise, but it's not weird. Some of the other stuff you do is, but not that.

4-0 Sox over Santana and the Twins in the bottom of the 4th.

KAYLEE said...

Well I knew that I do weird things all the time its what makes me me.

KAYLEE said...

//And Kaylee that is not an open invitation://

Have you been reading what I post other places?!Sounds like it.

Tree Newt said...

Tex, I'm just raggin on you...I wish I had been on to see the fireworks last night! I hate I missed it.

Teddy, I didn't read your post yesterday because there were 101 freaking comments!!! Plus, why not remind everyone of your total ineptitude when it comes to all things technological, besides the TiVo!

And Mr. Working Man's friend, where is my hand-colored pic of Rod Brind'Amor hoisting the Stanley Cup, eh?

KAYLEE said...

Hey dont get my started there MR SQUIRREL!

Ted D said...

Still can't figure out how to get my DirecTV guide to only show the channels I get: maybe you can help me tomorrow night figure it out, eh?

Buford Pusser is at church: hopefully he'll get on later. And where in the heck is Tex at? Wonder if her computer is freaking out again. Either that, or she found a free beer and mariachi band hotel again.

And Matty, I don't know if it's ineptitude or laziness on the technology thing: or it could be I'm just a moron.

KAYLEE said...

I cant figure out tedchnology either but thats just me I think Cause I have manny challenges that is just one.

KAYLEE said...

Okay I cant spell tonight.

Sonya@Beyond the Screen Door said...

Ok I'm back. Ted in fact I was flying my sox hat today. Does Material boy have permission to get on line or does he have to check with his father in law and see if he can turn on the power.

Glad to hear on the personal front. And remember, my offer to break kneecaps is open ended. Just keep that in mind. :)

Scotty and Matt: leave Tex alone. Besides, we all know she could hurt you bad. You're just talking big.
