Win some, Lose some.

You give up a total of 3 runs, with guys named Manny, Drew, and Lowell in the lineup?

You've got a pretty good shot of winning the game.

Not tonight, however. Either Aaron Harrang morped into Steve Carlton or the boys just had a bad night at the plate. Reds win 3-1 and I'm left banging my head on the computer desk and wondering where it all went wrong.

The guy I feel most bad about? Justin Masterson, who struck out 9, gave up 3 runs with the 2008 version of Murderer's Row behind him, and STILL lost. Welcome to The Show, Kid. Stuff happens.

On a personal note, I bought myself a new gas grill for Father's Day, and it only took 3.5 hours to put it together. I'm still not sure I won't send half of the neighborhood to Mars when I actually light the thing, but for now I'm doing my best impression of Tim Allen on "Home Improvement".

And finally? RIP Tim Russert.

My Pop loved to watch you and that's good enough for me.

Whatever happened to charcoal? A gas grill's like cooking indoors but with no a/c and insects.

One of these days I'm going to try a hangi, a Maori BBQ using heated stones.

Rotten break for Justin. Harrang pitched way better than anyone expected.

Thanks Tex! I'll pass on the word to everyone.

Horsham, I try to avoid anything that involves lighting a match around here. I'm sure you understand. ;)

Harrang pitched like he has the past 2 seasons leading up to this one. Figures he'd get his stuff together for us, right?

Happy Fathers day, John.

Dude, why didn't you wait until Sunday, and I'd have put that thing together in 10 minutes for ya.

I'd make smart remarks about you and matches and grills and the possibilities of danger, but I lost my right to do that. I'll fill you in later on the why.

Did you blow up Benson, Mattie?

I swear I have no idea why I can't do stuff like that and not get stressed out. I was this close to going "Office Space" on that thing. I kept looking at that bat in the corner and imagining it.

Thanks for the congrats! I'm just happy I didn't trip =]. Only my friend and I knew who's phone it was - all that matters!

Looks like Big Trot's going to be with the Mets Major league roster! Good news all around!

Krystle, I heard that about Trot last night. I'm really glad he's going to get to play in the bigs this year.
