Maybe They'll Name A Comet After Me

Ciera got accepted into the Duke Tip program yesterday, which only takes the top 5% of each grade. Best I can tell this is going to cost me about $40 a month and entails her and one of her parents attending a summer camp this year; that said, I couldn't be prouder.

Rakes was actually good every day at playschool this week, got his obligatory sticker, and his choice out of the prize box. First time for everything I guess.

Trot took a 2 1/2 hour nap today without wearing a diaper and didn't cause Ang to change his sheets, the comforter, and have to have his room re-carpeted. If I can get him out of diapers I may be able to buy that 2 litre bottle of Mt Dew yet.

I've got to sleep in my bed and not the couch for over a month, we're going out on a date come Saturday, and Ang left me a sweet note in my lunch every day this week but today. (I grabbed a tv dinner in her defense, so there really wasn't any reason to write me anything.)

David Wells is threatening bodily harm to Joe Torre for writing this book everyone is in a snit over, along with the Yankees contemplating a clause in future contracts that basically say "You can't say anything bad about us or we'll sue you, take your house, and make sure you finish your days destitute and in constant ridicule."

Is it any wonder I keep waiting for an asteroid to hit my house, IRS agents showing up at my door, and Ang to call me at work and tell me the pipes just burst?

My luck can't continue to be this good.

would you just one day be optimistic?

A deer hit you and you survived...you can only go up from there.

Congrats to Ciera!!

Tex, that stupid deer did $3,000 worth of damage to my car. And I didn't even get to eat it.

I'm optimistic; just realistic.

And I'm so proud of her I could scream. My daughter in the top 95% of her class; thank God I married a smart woman.

Well done, Ciera!

And whose fault was that?:)

I guess the Yankees forgot about the freedom of speech. I'm glad you can sleep in your own bed man, I've headed for the couch many a night!

Yuck it up, Mattie. Your day is coming soon.

Horsham, totally my fault; my aversion to blood and killing sort of got in the way.

Blogstiny, when I read the Yankees were thinking about that, I was speechless; but it's the Yankee way so what are you gonna do? And the couch is not comfortable, no matter what they tell you.

I am taking immense pleasure in listening to all the Yankee fans moan that someone exposed their dirty laundry and all curse the day Torre first put on the pinstripes.

Better enjoy the bed while you can. 12 days til pitchers & catchers report and it won't be long til you're back on the couch! ;-)

Ted, that is a fantastic opportunity for Ciera. We find some of our best students via that program - I'm always fascinated by some of the terrific camps they've been to. Yeah!

Dawn, 12 days 'till Tek and the pitchers report!

Beth, I'm really proud of her. I just don't know what she's talking about half the time. ;)

haha, she's what, 12? Yeah I guess that was about the time my parents stopped being able to help me with math... sounds about right ;) Good for her! Good to see her heading the top of the entry, too! :)

10, Sarah. Don't make her any older than she already is; I look at her and shudder when I think about the next 10 years.

It's 50/50 whether I'll make it out alive or not at this point.
