Happy Day's are here again. Almost.

Stupid computer problems have kept me from posting since Tuesday. I get a update from Microsoft to download on Wednesday, so like a idiot, I download it. It was some new toolbar that for some reason would not let me sign on to post, so I un-download it. (Yes, I realize that is probably not the correct term, but since it's a small miracle I can actually navigate this blog, just let it go.)

Anyway, I'm happy to say that with my brother in law Keith's help, I'm up and running again so my family members have a new post with which to insult me in the comment section. So have at it guys!

February 16th is the day pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training for the Red Sox. I feel like Red in Shawshank Redemption when he gets paroled and is on his way to Mexico to meet up with Andy: I'm so excited I almost can't contain myself. When the season ended in October, with the Sox in 3rd place, I felt kind of lost and sad. As the winter goes on, the sadness sort of goes away, replaced by a little emptiness. Now, with Spring Training so close, I'm excited and anxious to get it going again. I feel like Ciera and Rakes on Christmas morning, or Trot when he sees his bottle when he's hungry, like I want to jump out of my skin. I'll clarify that in saying I'm not squealing at the top of my lungs, crying, or drooling. OK, I AM drooling just a little, but that's OK.

2007 is gonna be exciting for me. On paper, the Sox look like an elite team again. With Matsuzaka and the Papelbot joining Schill, Beckett, and Wake in the rotation the staff looks as strong as any ones. And with JD Drew, if he can stay healthy, hitting 5th and giving Manny some protection, the lineup should be banging out runs at the 04-05 pace.

Baby Trot is starting to walk, and imagining the trouble he and Rakes will get in is, in it's own way, exciting. They are growing up and are gonna have a lot of fun together over the course of the year. Ciera will turn 9 and start 4th grade this year. And in December, me and my best friend will be married 15 years. How she has not smothered me with a pillow while I sleep is one of life's great mysteries, but somehow she has put up with me all this time.

I've got a feeling that 2007 is gonna be a good year. For the Sox and for me.

I hope the SOX have a repeat of 2004 this season:)

Is that comment about us having a place to rag on you was supposed to make me hesitate to do so, it didn't work.

Dude, I know why she hasn't smothered you in your sleep...she's comatose by the time you get to bed! She's so tired from keeping the 3 kids all day, she can't keep her eyes open by nine, much less take the time to grab a pillow, place it over you, and hold. Good thing you stay up late, eh?

Bro, I too am excited about the season's arrival. Can't wait to see how the rotation shapes up, how the new lineup works, how bad we beat the Stankees...but mainly, I'm glad because I will have something else to read in the paper, besides reading about another Hurricanes loss. I remember this feeling...it's the same one I had watching the Sox in 04-05. You know they have the talent, but repeating is NOT easy. So, I'll support my Canes, but I can pretty much see the writing on the wall: first round flameout. The Sox are like a blank slate right now: anything can come of it. Theo has given Tito the tools, now lets see what he paints with them.

I smell a division championship.

Uh, you mean 05-06 right? Cause they did win it all in 04 bubba. I'm just sayin'!

Thanks for reading kaylee.

You're Welcome.I aint afraid to compete with yopu guys I just dont because You all are older than me and can probably pick on me more than I can on you guys:D

Ted D said...

kaylee, I wouldn't ever pick on you. Matt is my little brother, so it's open season with us! You are welcome to comment anytime, and if I say something stupid, feel free to hammer me on it!

Haha okay I am good at that!

Now I know why you've had such a giddy attitude at work...only a few more days until pitchers and catchers report. It's an early spring present for you (and I get to hear about it EVERY day!)

Angie won't suffocate you because she needs your help with the kids from 5-9! I think you're safe.

Since I watched One flew over the cukoo nest the other night I know why she has not used the pillow on you! It would release you of the misery you richly deserve! Yes I to smell baseball in the air.It has come to my attention that you would have preferred that some family members not found out about your stress releasing blog.So I promise to only look at it in the off season. With that I bid you ado

Ted D said...

Scotty,

What are you talking about?!

You are welcome anytime man, anytime!

How'd the game go last night?

Ted D said...

Oh, and Scott: thanks for the shirts! Angie said I finally looked like I had some style!

Sonya@Beyond the Screen Door said...

It was good.Hornets won,Kevin Garnett played like a man begging for a trade. 16 points and with the game on the line in the last two min. he is setting picks instead of taking control of the ball. I want to strangle the inventor of the Thunder Sticks. Garrison banged his in my face and head the whole evening!A nameless face with a passion for pinecones and other tree bearing items dropped the litle note about your blog

Ted D said...

I knew he did: little barlap wearing granola that he is! Glad he did though: you liven the place up!

The Palo Alto Sacramento Los Angeles Angles of Anaheim were big into Thundersticks the year they won the W.S. and in '04 playoffs vs. Boston.

Most annoying thing ever.

Tree Newt said...

Ok, first off, forgive me for the 04-05 comment. Yes, I'm fully aware they won it all in 04. However, as a fan of the game of Hockey, where the season never really ends, and each year is actually 2 calendar years, cut me some slack.

Second, I'm starting to resemble all these granola cracks. Errr...resent. Yeah, that's what I meant.

Third, Scott, now that you've sent Jr. some shirts, please send him some jeans so I don't have to worry about seeing his nasty ol' holey britches when I come to visit. And some shoes might be nice. And a sportcoat that doesn't scream "I'm a furniture salesman." Oh, and PLEASE, send him some ties that don't have baseball on them! Just one! JUST ONE!!!

Mattie, I have a second care package in the works as we speak. I'll wait and see if he post any pic's with what I already sent.Ted is this otness cat going to be brought up this yr? If you are going to get me to come out to meet you guys for a game you need to set a date. I need advance planning!

Tex said...

un-download??? ::rolls eyes::

countdown is here to Pitchers and Catchers and Spring Training and me seeing them!!

Scotty....somehow I dont think a pillow would quiet Ted..and I'm not sure I want to...I have to have someone to pick on

Ted D said...

//Ted is this otness cat going to be brought up this yr?//

Huh? Can you explain this in english this time?

Howdy Tex! Where you been all day?

Sonya@Beyond the Screen Door said...

I guess you have to be a redsox fan. John Otness catcher prospect.I think we scared Tex off with all our rambling!

Tex said...

I aint skeeeeeerrrred! I've been working today. Teaching others how to not get caught writing bad checks. Decompressing now and heading out to walk the trail at the lake. Will post new blog this weekend.
Take more than rambling to scare me off

KAYLEE said...

We already have too many catchers waiting......WE got Kottaras too I just hope that Doug Maribelli does not get hurt because I dont want to see Varitek Try to catch Tim Wakefield's Knuckleball have seen that and its not pretty:)

KAYLEE said...

Plus Otness is not even on the 40 man Roster so I doubt we wil see him anytime soon!

Ted D said...

Scotty, you have got to stay on topic! Your'e talking about clothes the swerve off into minor league prospects! Otness has never played above A ball, and like kaylee said we already have 3 catchers on the 40 man roster. Come April, if someone up there likes me, the 2 catchers they break camp with will be Tek and Dougie. Tek is under contract through 2008, so if the kid makes progress maybe next year or in 2009 he makes it as a backup. More likely he'll get traded. If he hasn't gotten out of A ball yet, there are issues somewhere.

Ted D said...

Oh, and next time, can you be even MORE obscure with your prospects?

It's all I can do to keep up with the big league club and Pawtucket.

Someone has been reading the Red Sox MLB.com site!

Tex, you taught thm how to not write bad checks? SO they won't get caught next time?!

You bet I HAVE i love that site:)

Tree Newt said...

Jr., let me give you the down-low on Scotty's grammar: the fact that he's using punctuation at all is a HUGE step for him! He used to send me e-mails that had no caps and no punctuation. It was like trying to figure out a 100 word vanity license plate.

And Scotty's just trying to impress you with his knowledge, which probably came from going on the Sox site, scrolling down through all the links until he found the single-A club, then asking about someone know one would know.

Hey Bub, I thought you were Cards fan? Or was that just last year?

Ted D said...

kaylee, I meant Scotty! I know you are a long time fan, we are trying to convert Scott.

Matty, the lead article at the Red Sox MLB site is on Otness!

Sonya@Beyond the Screen Door said...

hey matt, this is cyber space not school house rock. say everything you have to say in one smooth pattern. Now baseball, that was just a question about a what might be. Did not mean to make you hardcore fans think you might have to change the name on the back of your favorite jersey!!!

Ted D said...

// Did not mean to make you hardcore fans think you might have to change the name on the back of your favorite jersey!!!//

Show of hands if you have a Tek jersey

::raises hand proudly::

Scotty, you are this sites ombudsman!

Tex said...

::Waves Hand Wildly::

just the mention Tek and I come a running

Ted D said...

Tex, you got a Tek jersey? Sweet!

I think with Matt and Scotty commenting here, along with you, I am THIIIIIS close to losing total control of my own blog!

Tex said...

I like Scotty's stream of UNconsciousness thoughts. His mind seems pliable to brainwash into a Red Sox fan.

Ted of course I have Tek's jersey! you think I only think of his ass??

Sonya@Beyond the Screen Door said...

Ok, I can do the mindless chatter thing. But remember I've grown up in the home of the Mick. so for coversation purpose we can do the redsox thing. Just remember I will change teams every now and then !TEX we will have to work a deal trade OKC redhawk tickets for rangers. A heck of a deal.

Tex said...

who the hell is the redhawks? :P

Ted D said...

Tex, the Redhawks are the Rangers AAA club in OKC. If you weren't just pickin' at Scott.

Scotty, I've only seen it from the outside: if I get out there in the summer, we need to go to a game.

Sonya@Beyond the Screen Door said...

Tex, You know the RedHawks.Where the Rangers send their very best prospects for adventure and training so when the Rangers make a late season run at the pennent. They can bring them up to the Bigs.

Sonya@Beyond the Screen Door said...

Of course Ted I would love to share my third base season tickets with you!

Tex said...

How far are the Redhawks from Frisco, their AA team?

Ted D said...

//Of course Ted I would love to share my third base season tickets with you!//

You ain't got 3rd base tickets.

Do you?
