School's Out

Rakes finished his first year of pre-school today in which he was sent off into summer in style with a picnic with his class at the local park.

He learned a lot this year: his A,B,C's, can count to 20 (maybe not chronologically, but he CAN do it), figure out which shoe goes on which foot, and a bunch of silly little songs which he likes to bellow out like he's Axl Rose in Madison Square Garden.

Other than several visits to time out, laying down in the road in silent protest like a hippie from the 60's because he wanted to keep playing, one attempted choke out of a classmate, and running around the music room like Coco going from 1st to 3rd, all in all he exceeded my expectations.

I have no idea what Angie will do for the next 4 months: she has viewed every Tuesday and Thursday as Emancipation Day, with Ciera and Rakes in school, even if his was just 3 hours. Thankfully, you can give him a bat and ball, take him outside, and he'll run and jump for hours, then collapse. That and take him and his siblings to the pool until they are ready to fall asleep head first into their lunch.

In a baseball related item, I talked to my Yankee buddy today, and even with them taking 2 out of 3 from the Sox, he was moaning and groaning about "The Sox get to go to Texas while WE have to play the Angels: that's some fair scheduling".

He's my buddy and all, but on a dreaded off day following a Schilling defeat, I gotta say the Yankee whining brought a smile to this Red Sox fan's face.

Dude, that boy is one of a kind! But you think he's wound up? You wait and see how Trot turns out! I predict he has you curled up in the fetal position by the time he's 2.

And the Yankee whining brings a smile to me as well. You know why? Losers whine. They're conceding defeat!

In my mind,at least,ALL those yankees whiners are just preparing themselves for october when they dont even make the wild card.

Mattie, Trot has already started braying like a Yak when he wants something, and can now climb onto the kitchen table where Angie has found him twice the past few days.

I may not make it until 2.

Dude, it was too funny: they honestly don't know what to do this far back! I gotta give him credit: a life long Yankee fan, and at least he's realistic. "We made up one game".

Yep: gonna be a fun year.

I love it, brotha! Who else can write a post with "braying like a yak?" You are classic!

Be thankful for little Caroline, and I REALLY hope you 2 have a mattie jr one day: every man needs to experience this!

I must be getting paid back for past transgressions!

Evening everyone...

I don't know...I think I am too hardwired to dread the Yankees--I fear that they will look back at this series as the one that kicked their butt into gear

Although I heard Mercenary Roger was less than stellar last night....tehehehe

Hope everyone is well..

Glad you had a super birthday, Ted!

Go Sox!

Hi Christine: had a great birthday and looking forward to the weekend.

I'm like you also: it's just I get a different vibe from the Sox this year: they are not scared anymore, so I'm following that lead.

9.5 is a BIG hole to climb out of: the only way it happens is if the Sox implode, and I don't see that happening.

Dude, if you're getting paid back for past transgressions, those boys ain't nothing compared to what mine will be like!

Working on some "deep end" stuff over at the Perch. Fair warning.

I'll go buy a life preserver in the morning.

And maybe some floaties too.

All right Jr I will cut you some slack. I hope the sox don't stumble, cause I can tell it won't take my best stuff to get you in a straight jacket!
Tough call Mattie , I can go with either sens or ducks. I think I will buy a hat for both! Doesn't hurt to be prepared.

Sonya@Beyond the Screen Door said...

Mr Ed. a piece of advise. DONOT I REPEAT DO NOT GO TO WHEAT THINS new post. You don't have floaties big enough.

Tree Newt said...

Bub, I'd expect nothing less than a Sens Hat and Jersey to go with your Ducks hat and jersey.

I'm going with Jiggy. I want him to get the big silver trophy. Although it would be cool to see the Cup in Canada again. Plus, they're in Buffalo's division, so it would eat on the Buffalo fans. Maybe I will pull for the Sens!

::catching breath from being at Corn Meals::

Mattie, I'll post when I am wide awake: that's a little heavy for early morning Teddy.

In baseball news, after pulling a John Wayne to the press about how he did nothing wrong, Slappy apologized to Pedie before Wednesday night's game. Think he realized they play again next weekend, and Beckett will be back? Yes, the same Beckett who wanted to throw down with Ryan Howard in Spring Training last year?

Hmm...

Great photo of Rakes. Hey, he's just 3 and making sure his teachers earn their money. :) If I were you, I'd be a little more concerned about Trot. He's got his own stubborn streak, PLUS he's watching everything big brother does.

Glad A-Rod apologized. Should have done it BEFORE denying he did anything wrong, but an apology is an apology.

Pedrio is a class act. Nothing to be gained by whining.

Enjoy your 24 hour break from the kids. And remember, you must eat IN the restaurant. No take out allowed. :)

What Stacy? I can't go get The Barell to go? I've got 'em on my speed dial you know!

I'm going to make a prediction: Teddy takes Ang to Red Lobster. Anyone want to place bets?

KAYLEE said...

I just keep repeating to myself PG-13 PG-13

Ted D said...

Listen Bub, I can't help it if she's asleep: I'm just grateful the Sox game was rain delayed!

KAYLEE said...

well okay then I guess you can watch the game:)

Outback? Really? I'm proud of you, Monk! You tried something new!
