Go west young psycho. I mean young man.

Checklist for tonight's game:

Caffeine? check
Lucky bat? check
Toothpicks for holding eyelids open? check

After dropping 2 of 3 to the Yankees, Julian and his band of misfits flew out to Oakland for the start of a West Coast swing: 4 in Oakland and 3 in Arizona.

I hate losing to the Yankees and I'm glad we won't see them again until the end of August: losing to them on a Slappy home run off the Papelbot is like a good hard kick to the marbles: painful.

Oakland reminds me a lot of the Red Sox: goofy personalities, wild facial hair, and a bunch of grinders and dirt dogs: always enjoy it when the 2 teams play. Plus, we are catching them at a good time: their pen is a mess. If we can get the starters out early, this lineup should be able to score a lot of crooked numbers against a pen without it's set up man and closer.

Julian is on the hill: it's a lot like Christmas morning. You have no idea what you are gonna get, and it gives you that warm little pit in your stomach.

In other news, Rakes stepped on a skateboard, and much like Yosemite Sam in the Bugs Bunny cartoon's stepping on a rake, it popped up and gashed his forehead, gave Trot a mule kick to the stomach tonight, and I got caught in a thunderstorm/traffic delay on the way home.

I love Monday's.

Is it raining all over this Nation?? We had a bad thunderstorm last night and again this afternoon!

Im getting excited about the west coast series...cos it means its getting closer to the time i get to see the boys again..and i get to see a city ive never visited: San Diego! I really like Oaklands motley crew too...

but I think Taz is like Halloween more...cos when you say "trick or treat" you know even if you get tricked by Taz's antics...you'll be treated with his smile

Good point Tex: and I hear San Diego is awesome: make sure you take some pictures of you, John, SotB, and I can't remember who else.

BAD thunderstorms here tonight: 2 of the 3 young ones were scared to death.

Seems like it's passed by for now: just getting ready for the game to start.

Ted - Sorry to hear that you had a "case of the Mondays" (I just watched 'Office Space' this weekend). Your post's title & checklist made me chuckle!

Thanks Carol: just a typical Monday. Game is on in 15 minutes or so, so all is good.

How are you, John, and Baby D doing? Hope you all had a great day.

I caught the last hour of Office Space too: Corn Meal clued me into that movie, and I love it.

Aren't Mondays great? I needed about 2 more hours at work

Off to a good start Papi!

Those Coco Puffs not agreeing with Coco, and Deirdre! Though it's making her feel better when I say "Coco Crisp" for some reason lol.

Tell Baby D I hope she feels better:

And it was good to see Papi brak the homerless streak.

BTW, A's announcers? Not so bad: pull for the A's, but give the Sox some props.

And by brak, I mean brake.

I hate 10 pm starts.

Evening everyone..

There is something inherently wrong about the fact that its 10:45pm and they Sox are only in the bottom of the 2nd inning....oooh boy...

I had one of those Monday's too...up until lunchtime I was convinced I should have stayed in bed....

Looks like the Yankees lost--glad the balance of the universe has been restored...:-)

Hope everyone is well!

Go Sox!

Hi Christine:

Still here. 11:56 pm and the bottome of the 6th. Donnelly in and it's 3-1 A's.

Still keeping the fair.

Well, I made it as far as Tex. I was surprised to hear that they went 11 innings, then lost. What a shame! Also, D is fine again - Only lasted a few hours thankfully. Have a good one!

I stayed up for the entire game.

I am an idiot.

Not sure if I can make it tonight, but I'm gonna give it the old college try.

Poor Ted, and at least you admit it (just kidding)!

Ted D said...

I'm not ashamed to admit I'm an idiot Carol: it helps me not to have to keep up appearances. ;)

Evening everyone...

Ted: You staying up all night does not suprise me--you're an insomniac..LOL

That must have been a crappy game to be up all night to see tho..:-(

Let's hope they can light up Lenny DiNardo like everyone used to light him up when he pitched for the Sox--watch...he'll pitch a no-no...

There is STILL 90 minutes+ until the game starts--freakin crazy stuff...

Hope you are well!

Go Sox!

Evening Christine: other than the very end, it was a great game. IF you had no vested interest, it was a great baseball game. Really thought they'd pull it out at the end.

I'm a sleepy insomniac Christine: a very sleepy one.

I'm great and I hope you are as well. Big day is in a week from Friday: I'll ask again (Hinting for an invite :)), you got anyone lined up to put gravel in your hubcaps and shoe polish your windows?

38 days Ted....Sure, if you want to trek to Dalton, PA to come to my wedding, we would love to have you...:-)

I thought it was JUNE 13th, not July.

::slaps forehead::

Dalton, PA huh?
