The future is now.

Tonight in Seattle, Kason Gabbard takes the hill for the Red Sox in his second Major League start this year. This is one of my favorite things about watching baseball: seeing the future stars get their shot.

It's a little easier watching a guy get his feet wet with a 10 game lead, granted, but Gabbard made 4 starts last year, going 1-3, but had a 3.51 era which isn't too shabby.

He's got his work cut out for him tonight: Felix Hernandez on the bump, and Ichiro at the plate. Best news I've heard all day? Lugo is getting the night off, with Cora getting the start at SS tonight. I know you can't break out of a slump sitting on the bench, but man, has he been a momentum sucking hole in the lineup this year. $36 million for a guy who looks as lost at the plate right now as anyone I've ever seen, including me in the fast pitch section at the batting cages.

Not good.

SH - It's a shame that they didn't, and a shame that KG spoiled one of Ted's favorite things about watching baseball.

The heat wave continues today. Everyone to Scott's house for a pool party!

Scott - I would guess Bob Dylan, but I don't know the album's name.

Also, when I was just out, "I took a wrong turn and I just kept going!"

Check :)

Orsillo just said "The Sox have lost 7 straight games at this field." Rub it in Don!

Hey everybody: just got home, and storm is passing over the house, so my satellite is out.

Bub, there was a picture in the USA today of 2 girls being rescued from their car by the police in a BOAT from OKC. You may need to build an ark.

Carol, I agree with Scott: the pictures were great. And my sister does the headstone rubbing thingimajimmies: she married Scott, what else can I say?

Tex: glad you made it safe and sound back to Texas. Hope you enjoy being with your parents, and I can't wait to see some pictures from San Diego.

Ted - Better get Scott working on that satellite!

Scott - I kid you not - I just went out to pick up my pictures from today, and when I started up the car, this is what I heard:

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you get what you need (goes into the chorus). It was on Manchester's 96.5 the Mill; I thought you must have had it dedicated to me LOL

Carol, that is too much: you and Scott just chatting it up during the day is cracking me up!

You are a stay at home Mom: he is a hippie who works 4 months a year!

I think we need to find him a part time job.

How about a DJ?- lol

Good idea, but you forget he's old: he'd be asleep by 9:30.

This game is giving me an ulcer: still 1-1, bottom of the 8th.

AHEMMMMM if you're talking about Scott....he's MY AGE. :-p

Ted D said...

Yeah Tex, but you are young at heart, so I don't think of you as being Scott's age.

Plus, he's raising THREE girls: makes him at least 15 years older than you physically.

Scotty must be busy watching his show on right now - Last Comic Standing :D

Probably at church Carol: I'm expecting him any minute.

Fireworks, what can I say. What is up? Way too many 0 for 5 and 0 for 4 batters. And Manny get off the line.

Carol and Tex , Jr is just trying to get my goat. I run circles around that boy. Dj hadn't thought of that. Yes Carol I was sending Stone vibes your way. Of course when you are really ready we will get into Van the Man .

I'll have to brush up for that Scott ;) Goodnight.
