Smile: And the whole world smiles with you.

*Photo from Boston.com*

I'm on a sports boycott until tomorrow.

Yet I needed my Red Sox fix.

I also needed a smile before I went to bed.

This picture sort of covers all the bases.

Back to the insanity tomorrow.

Final thought: if the world had more Manny in it, it'd be a much better place.

I love that picture. :) Tito doesn't quite know what to think, which is probably the normal response to a encounter with Manny.

Feeling a little testy this morning, Tex?

//If the team had more healthy Manny with a bat in his hands, it'd be a much better place.//

Fixed again.

Jeez: I take awhile to get on, and the inmates have taken over the asylum.

Tex, take a happy pill: we play the Devil Rays for the next 3 games. Last day on the job today, huh? I'm sure you will work hard and be productive right? :P

Morning Becks:

//If the World had a more healthy manny with a bat in his hands, it'd be a much better place.//

Fixed AGAIN.

Kaylee, it's from one of my favorite movies, Field of Dreams.

(Apologies to Tedders in advance for taking up so much of his space here, but this is one of my favorite baseball descriptions of all times.)

James Earl Jones (pictured) saying:

"And they'll walk out to the bleachers; sit in shirtsleeves on a perfect afternoon. They'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they'll watch the game and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again."

Jr., when did you become the apostle of positive thinking? This is not like you.

JET, you take up as much space as you want: the welcome mat is always out for you.

Mattie, no Mule Days tonight? I have turned over a new leaf: I am the new Zig Ziglar. There's ALWAYS a space up front.

BTW, that is also one of MY all time favorite movie quotes: right after "Hit the mascot" and "Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son" and "Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!" from Animal House.

Dude, I'm learning to like Mule Days, if for no other reason than hearing Baby C say "Hor-sie." That alone is enough to get the cowboy boots shined up!

That was pretty cute: Sox are winning 8-1 in the top of the ninth.

Jays were winning 4-0 in the ninth: it's now tied in the 11th. The Blue Jays bullpen is composed of nothing but gas cans.

I told you we can't count on anyone else. If we did our job, there would be no worries.

Ted D said...

Josh Beckett is a 20 game winner.

I could say I told you so, but I won't.

Screw that: I TOLD you so!

Way to go Beckett.

But that does nothing to change my point: had we taken care of business, there would be no scoreboard watching.

Admit it: you like the tension. You crave it. It makes you tick. You are, after all, a Red Sox fan. There is no such thing as a stress-free fall.

id like to see if anyone can wipe this texas size silly grin off my face

After I came to your defense the other night, you have to take a whizz on my cornflakes, don't you.

I'm ignoring you canola oil.

Tex, thought of you when he did it. If you remember, my first ever post was about Beckett: I iz a soothsayer.

Just keeping it real, Zig. Just keeping it real.

Now, I'm really going to go to bed.
