Thinking about being cooped up in the house with Ciera, Curly, and Moe for the rest of the day is usually a reason for me to break out in hives, and today was no different. Trying to entertain 3 kids WITHOUT using the tv, PlayStation, and computer takes tremendous creativity and some serious thought.
Which is why Rakes was soon doing this...
And Ciera was doing this...
By 6 pm it had degenerated into a Royal Rumble between the three of them, with Rakes taking on Ciera...(You can't see the plastic sword just of of sight in his right hand)
Ciera giving Trot the Russian Death Lock while still trying to fend off Rakes...
And strangely, Trot giving his Uncle Marty his best "Home Alone" impersonation while Rakes wails away on Ciera in the background...
All I know is it's 9:20 at night, my nerves are frayed, and I'm preparing myself to be ready to make snow angels in the morning. If I knew then what I know now about how stressful it is when you are raising three kids do you know what I'd have done different?
Not one blessed thing. It's an ulcer inducing roller coaster that never slows down and never stops.
I wouldn't have it any other way.

sounds like you had a rambunctious day and fun. no snow in austin. did you see my post on sg on my dream?
Rambunctions covers it pretty well, Tex.
And yes, I saw it. Strange doesn't begin to cover it. Though he sounds like he's the same in a dream as he is in real life.
No getting to make a snowman with the kids with that accumulation. D whooped it up at Funworld today =)
Yeah Carol, I just haven't figured out a way to break it to them yet.
Glad to hear you and D had a good time. I'm sure Funworld will never be the same again. ;)
Has anyone ever seen the movie 'The Gingerbread Man'? It's starting up on Flix right now.
The Grisham story? If it is, then yep. Kenneth Brangth, or however you spell his name. It's been a few years, but it's pretty good.
Yes that's the one. I've decided to watch it -Thnx
No problem. You want me to tell you how it ends? ;)
No :D
Spoil sport. ;)
I was out at Aaron and Susan's new place painting all day with Horace. He was like a kid...kept looking out the window and calling the weather men idiots. When it finally started, he was bouncing off the wall. I took Caroline out in it tonight for a little bit, as it was coming down. She was trying to catch a snowflake on her tongue...very adorable. Good luck with the snowangels tomorrow!
I'm just glad that there's still a movie on cable that I haven't seen lol. I watched Malice (with Nicole Kidman & Alec Baldwin) before this even though I had already seen it years ago - It was still good!
Mattie, Horace acting like that does not surprise me. If there has ever been a kid at heart in an adults body, it's him.
Carol, I'm watching 16 Blocks or whatever it's called with Bruce Willis as I type. It's actually pretty good, though I keep checking the Interwebs so I'm getting it in bits and pieces.
Enjoy the movie - Will you be able to watch the Patriots game tomorrow?
Go Chargers!
Carol, it just froze up on me. It's what I get watching DVD's my neighbors picked up in China for the great price of .50 cents a piece.
Mattie, I have a lot of people who read this who are Pat's fans. You should really clarify that because Phillip Rivers played at NC State is the reason you are making those kind of statements.
I love you, little brother. But you are asking for the whirlwind with that kind of stuff. ;)
Thanks for clarifying Matt's comment - I thought I was seeing things at first LOL
And Matt - You would have a lot of snowballs thrown at you at Gillette!
Carol,
He's a BIG NC State fan. So I understand his support of Rivers. That said, he's walking the tightrope with the Chargers stuff.
Me? I'm hoping the Pat's run the table. It's not every day you see history made.
Kenneth Brannagh, probably.
Good movie, as would be Life with the Daltons.:)
I'd pay at least a buck fifty for a hooky DVD of that.:)
1) Wow, nice big houses Ted. Something like that up here would be about 1/2 a million. We got more snow that that last night and it wasn't even in the forecast.
2) Yay royal rumble! The Russian Death Lock is especially cute.
3) The stress isn't dealing with the kids, it's in dealing with the wife. Oh, did I say that out loud? Maybe it's just me.
Big game today, hoss.
Love the pics of the kids; the one of Trot and Marty is a hoot! Especially with Rakes flailing away at Ciera! :)
Horsham, a whole buck fifty? Don't know if we're actually worth spending that much!
Stephen, those are townhouses you're seeing; 3 to a building, so it looks a lot bigger than it actually is. And yep; big games today. Here's to a Pat's/Pack Super Bowl.
Can I just say...the houses can fit half of my town in them, yeah it's THAT small.
The snow stories remind me of my cousins husband seeing snow for the first time. They were up for Christmas one year and it snowed. He's from FL, enough said.
The kids are a hoot. Just have to say.
As for the game today? I have to keep myself busy until 3PM and I have NO idea how that will be possible. I'm thinking the XBOX 360 that's in my room might help with that. Before I go, GO PATS! And I hope to be seeing a Pats/Packer's Super Bowl, as fun as it would be to beat another Manning...
Sorry I skipped you, Stacy. Yeah it's all fun and games until somebody is spurting blood. ;)
Krystle, I'm sure ESPN is running minute by minute coverage all day, and if you have the NFL Network they've probably got somebody in the Patriot's shower room as we speak. But the X Box will work. Heading out to church to hopefully wear the boys out and a prayer for Mom and Dad never hurts.
Ted, sorry but that doesn't qualify as a SNOW DAY anywhere, my friend!
:-))
Becks, I know to you New Englander's it's lame, but we honestly hadn't had snow on the ground in about 3 years. It was more along the lines of being cooped up all day inside. Usually it's warm enough we can take the hellions outside and burn some energy.
YOU be stuck inside with Rakes and Trot and then you can make fun of me. ;))
but Tex gets to make fun of Ted regardless...Im just sayin
True, Ted, but if you actually GOT snow you could have taken the kids sledding, which would have been PERFECT for your sanity and theirs.
It does make me laugh, though, to see the snow you had. My friend, Susan, in Raleigh went out to dinner last night because they could get their pick of restaurants since everyone else stayed home. It's all in what you're used to, for sure!
Either way, today is the day for everyone to work off some steam. Have fun!
i remember when it snowed here in austin...mean like a foot..course it was melting by 2pm that day BUT before it could. Tex was out and about walking around the trail and manmade lake i lived near at the time taking photos and all. when we had the ice storm last year...I was the only one walking around the neighborhood...for exercise! it was freezing but it smelled SO good.
Yes you can, Tex. And when did you start speaking in the third person? ;)
Becks, yeah it snows down here and it's lockdown mode. It was about 25 and windy today, and with all three kids hacking and coughing we stayed inside. Rakes actually took a nap!
How's Susan like living down here? I'm sure it's different for her.
OK to show I'm not a jerk: congrats Pats fans. The Chargers let me down. You guys are one win away, and you deserve it.
But to clarify: yes I am an NC State fan and I pulled foe Rivers, but I'm also a (insert sigh here) a Dolphins fan. Unlike my bro, I do not wish to see the Pats make history.
That said: Let's go Packers!
Thanks, Mattie, I think.
:)
Yeah Becks, that's his way of an a congratulations. His way of apologizing is "If I did it, I'm sorry."
But he's right on one point; the Pat's deserved it.
I don't have to say it very often because I'm seldom wrong. ;)
::putting my waders on::
Oy vey. See what I've had to put up with for 32 years, Tex?
::joins Tex wearing in wearing hip waders::
::knocks Mattie off his pedastal::
He's a tree newt, Tex. (Whatever that is) He'll just climb right back up.
