Record Setter

*Picture from yahoosports.com*

Since Rakes and Trot have turned into vampires the past 3 nights, I'll be short and sweet tonight. Where in the parent rule book does it say that BOTH of them can be sick at the same time?

Sox beat the Devil Rays 8-6 tonight, with Jon Lester getting the win.

In the 8th inning, with 2 outs, Tito went to Papelbon to get the last 4 outs: get them he did.

Striking out 3 out of the 4 men he faced, Pap recorded his 30th save of the year.

He also became the first Red Sox pitcher to EVER have back to back season's of 30 or more saves.

Take a good, long look, Yankee fan: you are watching OUR Mariano Rivera for the next dozen years. Hope you enjoyed the Mo' era while it lasted: because the Red Sox time to have the BEST closer in baseball has begun. How you like THEM apples?

I can go to bed, content with the knowledge that the Red Sox have a 5.5 game lead, with the MFY's losing 4-1 in the second inning on the left coast.

Worst case scenario? I wake up with a 5 game lead.

My greatest wish? Yanks lose, and tomorrow dawns with a 6 game advantage in the win column.

Now THAT would be ahhhhright.

No Ted I have stepped up to college kids now. Ok , one of your niece's was late for class this week. Threw on a pair of jeans and left. She calls her mom later in a mix between screaming and laughing because as she is setting in class catching her breathe a pair of panties falls out of the leg of her jeans! Please send Rakes to my house for a while I can take it

Bub, I am ROFL! Which one, Kayleigh I'm guessing?! Dude, them girls are crazy: I'd send Rakes on a plane, but I'm afraid the FAA would be knocking on my door.

Funny how no matter the age, there is always something crazy happening!

Ted, hope you got a good night's sleep last night. I'm sitting in panera bread typing with my thumbs. These modern conveniences! No posting for me tonight, I'm off to see the spinners. I have never been to a minor league game. If I see crash, I'll tell him you said hi! Have a good night! Go daiuske! (still cold here, booooo!)

Ted D said...

Becks, have a blast at the Spinners game.

Thankfully, both boys slept through the night, and Rakes got up around 8. Still grumpy as they can be, but feeling better.

Thanks for the pv's, and have fun.

Glad Lester got the win and Pap got his 30th save. Sounds like a good night for the boys.

Scottie, Mom told me the story about the clothing malfunction. :)
Too funny!

How goes the salt mine, Stacy?

Real test is NEXT week when those little nose pickers come back!

Good luck.

Sonya@Beyond the Screen Door said...

Ted please don't use the "nose pick" phrase with Stacy. You know she has a weak stomach.

It was so hot today I didn't even get in the pool.

Spoke with Pinecone about3:00 he was heading to his hotel room. You really need to ease up on his job requirements.

Afraid you'd boil, huh?

Yeah, he's got it rough, right behind the guy who has to be designated pooper scooper for the elephant in the circus.

Evening Everyone:

Hey Ted, Sorry to hear the littler member of the household are on the DL--probbaly better that both of them are, then you get it all over with, rather than extended DL..ya know?

Hope you are well!

Go Sox!

John, so far, so good. But the lack of run support for Daisuke is getting a little scary.

Christine and John, thanks for the kind thoughts. Boys are better, just ill as hornets: Rakes was just put to bed and is screaming his head off as I type.

The Orioles just got beat 30-3 by the Rangers: unreal.

Christine E. said...

30-3? Holy Buckets! See that our friend Kason got the win--but with run support like that....

Speaking of run support, daisuke ain't got any...CRAP...

and Tito said he woudl be using Gagne tonight cause Pap is not available..CRAP..

Go Sox!

Ted D said...

Holy Buckets: makes me laugh everytime.

Christine, whats so frustrating is the lobsters. We have left men on base every inning so far I think.

Christine E. said...

I know Ted....Its makes me crazy EVERY time the Sox do not convert their runners...

Lobsters? Never heard that before..LOL

Christine E. said...

Never mind..just got it...

LOB-sters...

A little slow tonight...

Ted D said...

ROFL, Christine!

Christine E. said...

And a 2 run homer for the Satan Fish....CRAP!

Why doe sit feel insurmountable???

UGH

Ted D said...
